Channel 24 Emerge Champions in Media Cup Cricket

Dhaka: Channel 24 emerged as champions in the Fortune-Barisal Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Media Cup cricket tournament, defeating Channel I by three wickets in the final held at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Channel I batted first and set a competitive total of 76 runs for two wickets from their allotted six overs. In response, Channel 24 successfully chased down the target with the loss of wickets.

Gias Uddin Sajib from Channel 24 was named the player of the match for his performance in the final. Nilandri Shekhor from Channel I received the player of the tournament accolade.

Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector and former captain of the national cricket team, attended the final as the chief guest and distributed the prizes. DRU president Abu Saleh Akon, its general secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, and DRU Sports Secretary Md. Mojibur Rahman were also present at the event.
