Dhaka: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan today accorded a reception to the gallantry award holders, valiant freedom fighters (FFs) of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), and heroic members of ‘Kilo Flight’ and their successors at BAF Shaheen Hall in the city’s Tejgaon area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the reception was organized to acknowledge their supreme sacrifices and contributions to the country and nation, marking the Armed Forces Day 2025, as stated by a release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate. A total of 34 valiant freedom fighters, ‘Kilo Flight’ members, and their successors were present at the event.
During the occasion, the BAF chief exchanged greetings with the valiant FFs, ‘Kilo Flight’ members, or their successors. Referring to their contributions during the War of Liberation, he highlighted how the Bangladesh Air Force, which began with only three aircraft on the battlefield in 1971, is now equipped with sophisticated fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, various types of radars, missiles, and overhauling technologies.
The release also mentioned that several projects have been undertaken to enhance operational and administrative capacity, with a number of them having been successfully implemented. Hasan Mahmood Khan emphasized that the sacrifice and contribution of the valiant freedom fighters and the members of Kilo Flight have become a source of inspiration for all BAF members.
The event was attended by Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), senior officers, and airmen from different BAF bases, the ISPR added.
