Decisions on Religion Should Be Made by Scholars, Says Khalid

Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain emphasized the importance of making decisions on religious matters through scholarly consensus. Speaking at the unveiling of the Allama Azhar Ali Anwar Shah (RA) memorial book at the Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Khalid highlighted the necessity for unity and mutual respect among scholars to prevent a crisis in their collective existence.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khalid urged scholars to maintain a respectful dialogue with one another, underscoring that respect is crucial for maintaining unity. He praised the commemorative book on Allama Azhar Ali Anwar Shah (RA) as a significant contribution to Bengali history, noting that it features insights from prominent scholars.

Khalid further expressed hope that the publication will inspire future generations of scholars and illuminate new perspectives. The event also featured speeches by Senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana Mizanur Rahman, with Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Rashid, Director General of Al Jamiatul Imdadia Kishoreganj, presiding over the event.
