Dhaka: Three additional deaths due to dengue fever have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 356 for the year. During this same period, 593 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, increasing the total number of dengue cases in 2025 to 89,486.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that of the new admissions, 90 patients were admitted to hospitals in Barishal division (outside City Corporation), 97 in Chattogram division (outside City Corporation), and 88 in Dhaka division (outside City Corporation). Additionally, 211 were admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation, 78 under Dhaka South City Corporation, and 29 in Khulna division (outside City Corporation).
In the same 24-hour period, 628 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. This brings the total number of recovered patients this year to 86,331.
From January until November 20, 2025, a total of 89,486 individuals have contracted dengue in Bangladesh, with 62.3 percent of these cases being male and 37.7 percent female. The current year’s statistics show a decrease in cases and fatalities compared to 2024, when Bangladesh recorded 101,214 cases and 575 deaths.
