Four Family Members Killed in Dinajpur Road Collision

Dinajpur: Four members of a family were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and an easy bike in front of the Wheat and Maize Research Institute in Sadar upazila this afternoon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Marjina Begum, 53, wife of Yakub Ali of Khanpur village in Sadar upazila, Sarjina Begum, 45, wife of Abdus Salam of the same village, and their school-going daughter Sadia Begum, 15, and Shimu Akhtar, 38, wife of Aminul Islam of Kaitar village of the upazila.



The tragic accident occurred around 3.30 pm on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway when a bus of ‘Nasib Paribahan’ collided head-on with an easy bike. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of two women and a schoolgirl who were passengers on the easy bike, with another victim succumbing to injuries en route to the hospital.



Inspector Md. Moniruzzaman of Dinajpur Sadar Kotwali Police Station reported that the injured individuals were transported to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. The condition of three among the injured is critical, raising concerns about further casualties from this devastating incident.
