Thailand and Chinese Taipei Secure Wins in Women’s Kabaddi World Cup

Mirpur: Thailand and Chinese Taipei emerged victorious in their respective matches at the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, hosted at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Thailand achieved a decisive 51-26 victory over Germany, who have yet to win a match in this tournament. Thailand dominated from the outset, inflicting the first ‘All Out’ on Germany within four minutes, followed by another in the seventh minute. By the 10th minute, Thailand had secured a third ‘All Out’, establishing a commanding 28-1 lead. The first half concluded with Thailand ahead 33-4.



Germany showed some resistance in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the substantial lead. Thailand sealed their win with a final score of 51-26, marking their second consecutive victory after an initial defeat to India. Thailand’s winning streak includes previous victories over Uganda and now Germany in their group.



Looking ahead, Thailand will face Bangladesh tomorrow at 10:30 am at the same venue. Thai Captain Kamontip Tippichaikul expressed satisfaction with her team’s performance and optimism for the upcoming match against the hosts. She emphasized the team’s desire to continue their winning streak and noted the positive atmosphere at the venue, downplaying any pressure regarding the match against Bangladesh.



In the day’s earlier match, Chinese Taipei defeated Zanzibar 71-19, leading 39-8 at halftime.
