Rangpur: The registration process for the first convocation of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has been officially inaugurated in a ceremony held at the university’s syndicate meeting room. Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali inaugurated the process by registering the convocation of Md Shahid Sarkar, a first batch student of MBA (Professional) of the Department of Marketing on Thursday afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the VC announced that students from the first to 12th batches of the university, who have obtained degrees, will be able to participate in this convocation. “The first convocation of the university will be held on January 17, 2026, and its registration process will continue from November 21 to December 10, 2025,” he stated.
Education Adviser Prof Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar is expected to preside over the first convocation of the university. Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali expressed hope that the convocation will be memorable with the participation of degree-granting students.
All notifications and instructions related to the first convocation will be published on the university’s website (https://convocation.brur.ac.bd). In attendance at the ceremony were the Controller of Examinations of BRUR, Prof Dr Md Zahid Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, Director of the Office of the Students’ Affairs, Prof Dr Md Ileas Pramanik, and Proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman.
