Mymensingh: Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has officially launched a fully automated online system for issuing academic certificates, aiming to reduce processing time and eliminate student hassles. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan inaugurated the service from the VC’s office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the system, developed by the Education Affairs Branch with technical support from the university’s ICT Cell, is now operational. Under this new arrangement, students across graduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs, whether in Bangladesh or abroad, can apply online for provisional and original certificates through the BAU ERP platform or the university’s website. The process includes the facility for students to complete all required payments digitally.

The inauguration event was attended by notable figures including Registrar Md. Helal Uddin, Student Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Haque, Treasurer (Current Responsibilities) Professor Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, various faculty deans, Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Alim, ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rustam Ali, Additional Registrar of the Education Branch Md. Sarwar Jahan, and Dr. Faruk Ahmed. ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rustam Ali explained that students will log into the ERP or access the BAU website, select the ‘Apply for Certificate’ option, and proceed with the online application. The system will automatically display their name, degree, and academic information upon entering their student ID.

Certificate options along with corresponding fees will appear, and payments can be completed through various online methods. After verification, certificates will be sent to the respective student halls, from where students can collect them following hall clearance. Additional Registrar Dr. Faruk Ahmed emphasized that the initiative was taken to enhance student convenience, with offline applications remaining open only until the end of this month before the entire process transitions online.

Dr. Faruk Ahmed further noted that BAU has been storing data for automation since 2012, and earlier records will be updated to include all students in the system. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Bhuiyan highlighted the university’s significant step toward simplifying certificate collection, ensuring that students can receive their certificates within 72 hours after completing the online application and payment. He commended the ICT Cell and Education Branch for their efforts in implementing the program.

With this launch, BAU anticipates a faster, more efficient, and fully digitalized certification process, benefiting thousands of students and making academic administration more dynamic.
