Wheelchairs Distributed to Physically Challenged Children and Elderly in Tangail

Tangail: A total of 1,103 physically challenged children and elderly persons in Tangail Sadar upazila have received wheelchairs under an initiative taken by Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, BNP Central Publicity Secretary. Three beneficiaries were handed over wheelchairs at a programme held at the Shaheed Minar premises in Tangail town this evening.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the wheelchairs were distributed by former BNP district member secretary Mahmudul Haque Sanu on behalf of Tuku. Sanu mentioned that the wheelchairs were provided through the personal initiative of Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, who is also an aspirant for the BNP nomination from Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituency.

Under the initiative, wheelchairs have already been distributed across 12 unions and 18 wards of Tangail municipality, benefiting 1,103 physically challenged children and elderly people. He added that such humanitarian activities will continue in future.

District Swechchhasebak Dal member secretary Saleh Mohammad Shafi Ethen, district Jubo Dal senior joint convener Zahid Hossain Mala, Tangail town Jubo Dal convener Rashed Khan Sohag, and other Jubo Dal leaders were present at the event.
