Narayanganj: Former Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy has been shown arrested in five more cases today. Of the five cases, four are murder cases filed with Fatullah Police Station, while the fifth, filed with Sadar Police Station, accuses her of obstructing police activities. The orders were issued following hearings in two separate courts here this noon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case on obstructing police activities was heard by Narayanganj Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Selina Khatun, while the four murder cases were heard by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Fatullah Maimuna Akhter Moni. Ivy, who is also a former vice-president of the Narayanganj district Awami League, has a total of ten cases filed against her in connection with the mass uprising in July 2024.
During the hearings, Ivy appeared virtually from Kashimpur Central Women’s Prison in Gazipur. She was initially arrested at her residence on May 9 in connection with a murder case linked to the anti-discrimination student movement and has since been shown arrested in four more cases.
