Dhaka: Former lawmaker of Barguna-3 (Barguna-Amtali-Taltali) constituency and member of the BNP National Executive Committee Matiar Rahman Talukder passed away on Monday evening at Ever Care Hospital in Dhaka. He was 78 and had been suffering from age-related complications.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Matiar Rahman, who also served as the former Zila Parishad chairman and general secretary of the district BNP, leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, and numerous relatives and well-wishers to mourn his passing.
BNP Central Committee Vice Chairman and former MP from Barguna-2 constituency Nurul Islam Moni, along with Barguna district BNP convener Nazrul Islam Mollah, expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Matiar Rahman.
