Dhaka: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today appointed Saif Hassan as the vice-captain in the T20 International format. Saif Hassan’s elevation as vice-captain of the T20 team comes on the back of consistent and impressive performances in the shortest format for Bangladesh. Liton Kumer Das has been entrusted with leading the side until the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BCB also confirmed leadership appointments in the other two formats, naming Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto as vice-captains in Test and ODI cricket, respectively. Shanto will continue as Test captain until the end of the current ICC Test Championship cycle, with Mehidy serving as his deputy.
Similarly, Shanto will act as the deputy of Mehidy in the ODI format, as the all-rounder was made ODI skipper for a one-year term in June this year.
