Chattogram: Customs officials, in collaboration with the NSI and Customs Intelligence, have confiscated foreign cigarettes and banned beauty creams from a passenger who arrived from Dubai at the Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, customs sources confirmed that authorities recovered 326 cartons of foreign cigarettes and 48 banned beauty creams. The seized items carry an estimated value of approximately Tk 11.48 lakh. Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, the Public Relations Officer of the airport, stated that the items were discovered during a search of a trolley bag belonging to Md. Rakibul Islam. Islam had arrived on US-Bangla Airlines flight BS-344 around 8:15 pm on Sunday.
Khalil further mentioned that the passenger, identified as a first-time offender, was released after he received a verbal warning and signed a bond.
