One Arrested with Heroin Worth Tk 46 Lakh in Tangail

Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) arrested an alleged drug dealer with 460 grams of heroin worth Taka 46 lakh at Kalihati upazila of the district last night. Company Commander Major Kawsar Badhon confirmed this information at a press briefing held at the Tangail camp on Sunday afternoon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individual, Tohar Ali, 60, is the son of Shoab Ali of Shibganj Police Station in Chapainawabganj district. The estimated market value of the recovered heroin is around Taka 46 lakh.

Major Kawsar Badhon stated that RAB members searched Tohar Ali in the Elenga bus stand area on the Dhaka-Tangail highway after harboring suspicions. During interrogation, he confessed to carrying drugs, leading to the recovery of the heroin packets.

A case has been filed with Kalihati Police Station against the arrested drug dealer, and the seized heroin will be handed over through the legal process.
