Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) is set to launch the expatriate voter registration app, "Postal Vote BD," to enable Bangladeshi citizens living abroad to cast their votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the app will be inaugurated on the evening of November 18. Election Commissioner Brig Gen (Retd) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah announced the launch at a meeting with registered political parties at the Election Building in Agargaon, in preparation for the 13th National Parliamentary Election. He emphasized the importance of political parties campaigning for expatriate voter registration to ensure the initiative's success.
A separate release from the Press Information Department stated that Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will officially unveil the "Postal Vote BD" app at the EC Auditorium during a function scheduled from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm on November 18. The app is designed to safeguard the voting rights of expatriate Bangladeshis.
Additionally, the EC plans to conduct an online meeting this afternoon concerning expatriate voter registration. An EC notice detailed that a training session on Out-of-Country Voting (OCV) will be conducted via Zoom. Participants will include all Regional Election Officers, Additional Regional Election Officers, Senior District/District Election Officers, Additional District Election Officers, and Upazila/Thana Election Officers.
