Chattogram: RAB-7 have arrested an accused in a murder case, who had been absconding for last 30 years, from Chattogram University Gate No.1 area under Hathazari upazila of the district on Saturday night. The arrested person Kamal Uddin, 48, is the son of Saleh Ahmad of Briaghona area of the upazila and was implicated in a murder case lodged in 1996 with Hathazari police. Though arrest warrant was issued against Kamal, he had been on the run in the last 30 years.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, based on secret information, a RAB team caught Kamal Uddin last night and handed him to police for further legal action, Assistant Director of RAB-7 A R M Mozaffar Hossain said.
