Bogura: The much-awaited poet conference hosted by the Bogura Writers' Circle is set to take place on November 28-29. At a press conference held at the Bogura Press Club auditorium, the president of the organization, Poet Islam Rafiq, shared details about the upcoming event.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the conference will recognize six distinguished individuals for their contributions to literature and culture. The awardees include Masuder Rahman for poetry, Anif Rubed for fiction, Saikat Habib for essay literature, Jamshed Wazed for little magazine editing, Matiul Islam Sadi for journalism, and Hasnat Amjad for children's literature.
The two-day event will be held at the Bogra Zila Parishad Auditorium, with participation expected from over two hundred poets, writers, and little magazine workers from across Bangladesh. Poet Islam Rafiq highlighted the Bogura Writers' Circle's 37-year history as a cornerstone of Bangladesh's literary community, emphasizing their slogan "Culture is the people's wealth."
Organized in conjunction with the organization's founding anniversary, the conference aims to foster creative exchange and celebrate literary achievements. The event will be inaugurated by Rezaul Karim Badsha, President of the Bogura District BNP, on November 28 at 10 am. Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasanat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Naogaon University, will attend as the chief guest. On the second day, renowned poet and Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Rezauddin Stalin, will present the prestigious awards.
Since its establishment in 1989, the Bogura Lekhak Chakra Puraskar has honored individuals who have significantly contributed to literature and culture. This year, the six recipients will receive a crest, certificate, and citation from Rezauddin Stalin on November 29, 2025, at 12 noon. Poet Islam Rafiq also called for the cooperation of local authorities, journalists, and well-wishers to ensure the success of this cultural event.
