Lalmohan: BNP Standing Committee member and former Bhola-3 lawmaker Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikrom, has accused Sheikh Hasina's government of misappropriating public funds and failing to complete development projects, resulting in financial losses for the country. Speaking at a reception at Shahbazpur Government College ground in Lalmohan upazila, he claimed that the government looted national wealth and left projects incomplete, alleging that one minister owns 360 houses in London.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Major Hafiz mentioned that his party, BNP, confirmed his nomination six months ago, with a formal announcement made on November 3. He arrived from Dhaka by launch on Friday and was warmly welcomed by party leaders and supporters at Lalmohan launch ghat, receiving greetings from people of all walks of life.
Expressing gratitude, he said, "The affection I have received today I will never forget. I am indebted to you all and will try to repay your love if I remain alive." Major Hafiz emphasized that BNP conducts politics for the welfare of the people and affirmed, "We will honour everything we signed in the July charter, but we will not accept any new demands."
The reception was chaired by Lalmohan Upazila BNP president Md. Zafar Iqbal and conducted by General Secretary Md. Shafiqul Islam Babul, with other local party leaders present.
