Rajshahi: A two-day international conference on Recent Advances in Science and Technology began at Rajshahi University (RU) today. The Faculty of Science is hosting the event at the Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium, providing a venue for researchers, scientists, and industry experts to present and discuss new developments and innovations in science and technology.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the conference aims to offer a platform for researchers to share innovations, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote knowledge exchange between academia and industry. The event is designed to showcase cutting-edge research, identify future research directions, and facilitate networking among professionals and students.
The inaugural session was addressed by Member of University Grants Commission, Professor Saidur Rahman, as the chief guest. RU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Farid Uddin Khan served as the patron of the event, with Science Faculty Dean Prof Nasima Akhter presiding over the proceedings. Esteemed speakers also included Vice-chancellor of Asian University of Bangladesh Prof Shahjahan Khan and Professor Emeritus of Department of Physics, Professor Azharul Islam.
Professor Saidur Rahman emphasized that the conference has gathered professionals from various scientific and technological fields to promote interdisciplinary collaboration. It is showcasing cutting-edge research and facilitates the sharing of knowledge between academic institutions and the industry. He highlighted that the international meeting is underscoring emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in science and technology to inspire new ideas.
The conference has created opportunities for researchers, educators, industry practitioners, and students to network and form potential collaborations. It is encouraging global scientific and technological progress through dialogue and knowledge sharing among participants worldwide. A total of 504 research papers, including 272 poster presentations, is scheduled to be presented in 35 academic sessions.
