Gaibandha: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested six suspects from northwestern Gaibandha as they allegedly amassed a huge amount of money from ordinary traders in the region, identifying themselves as onion suppliers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the alleged frauds collected money from several traders at Gaibandha's Gobindaganj upazila in the name of advance payment for onion and garlic and then fled the area.
RAB stated that among the suspects, two were women. RAB units in both the districts arrested them in a coordinated drive on November 11 night while they all hailed from Kishoreganj.
Additional superintendent of police KM Shahidul Islam mentioned that the RAB forces handed the arrested individuals over to Sadar Police Station for subsequent legal procedures.
