Faridpur: The Faridpur district police have apprehended three individuals suspected of manufacturing petrol bombs in an operation conducted in Brahmanpara, Azim Nagar Union, under Bhanga Police Station.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the police, in a statement, revealed that the Awami League and its affiliated organizations are allegedly involved in orchestrating chaos and sabotage through social media.
The police operation, prompted by intelligence reports, took place on Wednesday afternoon at an abandoned house owned by one Titu Sardar. The arrested individuals, identified as Md. Hossain Raj, Ahamudul Rashid Rakib, and Jewel Rana, were allegedly in the process of assembling petrol bombs when apprehended.
A significant cache of bomb-making materials was discovered at the scene, including 19 handmade crude bombs, numerous glass bottles of various sizes, rolls of colored tape, tins of Jorda, matchboxes, and other bomb components. Additional materials seized included 2 liters of petrol, sheets of gunpowder, and white stone powder, indicating preparations for producing explosive devices.
The police have acknowledged the crucial role of local residents in aiding the successful raid and have reiterated their dedication to ensuring safety and security in Faridpur.
