Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 35.2 percent, reaching US$1,109 million in the first ten days of November, according to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank (BB) today. This notable increase reflects the continued reliance on expatriate contributions to the country's economy.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the remittance inflow during the same period last year was $820 million. This significant rise underscores the growing financial contributions from overseas Bangladeshis, bolstering the nation's foreign exchange reserves.
In the fiscal year extending from July to November 10, 2025, expatriates sent remittances totaling $11,258 million. This is a substantial increase from the $9,758 million recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year. The consistent growth in remittances is crucial for Bangladesh, as it supports the balance of payments and contributes to economic stability.
