Rangpur: Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), Professor Dr. Md Shawkat Ali, emphasized the critical role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in modern academic research during a workshop held at the university. "The current world is constantly changing due to technology. In the coming days, those who can adapt to technology will lead the world," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop titled 'Application of AI Tools in Academic Research' was organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of BRUR. It took place in the virtual classroom of the university's Department of Computer Science and Engineering, with IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md Tajul Islam presiding over the event.
Professor Dr. Imran Mahmud, Head of the Department of Science and Information Technology at Daffodil International University, delivered the keynote address, focusing on the integration of AI tools in academic research. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the importance for students across all disciplines at BRUR and other higher education institutions to develop digital skills through the use of technology and AI.
He further encouraged students to utilize technology in ways that benefit the country. The workshop saw active participation from teachers across various departments of the university, indicating a broad interest in the subject matter.
Additional Directors of IQAC, Dr. Md Abdur Rakib and Md Sajib Mia, also attended the event, underscoring the institution's commitment to advancing academic research through technological integration.
