Dhaka: The Wage Earners' Welfare Board today distributed cheques for various forms of financial assistance including death compensation, medical treatment, educational scholarships, assistance for disabilities, and insurance facilities in the district. Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury handed over cheques totaling Tk 39.09 crore to 39 recipients as part of the "Promoting Diasporas Investment and Optimum Uses of Remittance Project."
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event also featured a 'Knowledge Sharing Seminar' which took place in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. The seminar was presided over by Barrister Md Golam Sarwar Bhuiya, the Director General of the Wage Earners' Welfare Board. Notable attendees included Deputy Commissioner Dr Manwar Hossein Malla, Project Director Imran Ahmed, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Ali.
