Dhaka: Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid today praised the youth for their resilience and leadership and said they would build a ‘New Bangladesh’ with utilizing the power of young generation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Murshid made these remarks after inaugurating a youth rally titled ‘Involvement of the Youth Community in the Protection of Children and Women’ at the auditorium of Bangladesh Film Archive at Agargaon in the capital. A press release highlighted her vision of leveraging the dynamism of the youth, especially in the wake of the July Uprising, to bring about transformative leadership and progress in Bangladesh.
A local youth delegation officially began its journey today from Dhaka, aiming to combat child and women abuse across the nation through this inauguration. Murshid emphasized that the young generation represents today’s freedom fighters and called for a united effort to build a humane, equal, and violence-free nation.
‘We will create a
state where power means love and responsibility means service. From homes to workplaces and cyberspace, we will ensure the safety of women and children everywhere,’ she said.
The event was organized in collaboration with Nirapad Alliance and Dreams on the Way. Several notable figures, including Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Dr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury, Nirapad Alliance Vice Chairman Barrister Tahmidur Rahman, and Kotha Bolo Nari founder Narayan Nusrat Haque, among others, addressed the gathering.
