Dhaka: A total of 40 leaders who were either expelled or had voluntarily resigned from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) have been reinstated in their respective positions within the party.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Rizvi announced in a press release that leaders who were expelled for violating party decisions by participating in the last Sylhet City Corporation elections have had their expulsion orders revoked. Their primary memberships have been reinstated following appeals and a subsequent decision by the party.

Among those reinstated is Sultana Razia, the Joint Convener of BNP’s Tetulia Upazila unit in the Panchagarh district. Razia had previously left the party voluntarily for personal reasons but has now regained her primary membership upon submitting an application.
