Dhaka: Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed today announced that the decision on implementing the new Pay Commission would be left to the next elected government. “We can’t say much at this stage. Let’s see how far the process moves. The next government will likely take it forward, as we’ve already initiated it,” he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Salehuddin made these remarks while briefing reporters following three separate meetings of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase, and the Food Planning and Monitoring Committee. These meetings were held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at the Bangladesh Secretariat and presided over by the Finance Adviser himself.

Dr Salehuddin emphasized that the interim government would focus on completing ongoing reforms to a satisfactory level before handing over a consolidated framework to the incoming elected administration.
