Munshiganj: Eight shops were gutted in a fire at Daskandi Bazar of Madhya Bausia under Gazaria upazila of the district early morning. Police said the fire broke out around 4:30 am today and gutted eight shops in the market, including a hotel, restaurant, medicine shop, and tea shop.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, two units of the fire service rushed to the spot upon being informed and managed to bring the fire under control after half an hour of effort. Md. Firoz Mia, Station Officer of Gazaria Fire Service and Civil Defense, stated that it is initially suspected that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit. Shahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Gazaria Police Station, confirmed the matter.
