Nilphamari: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 apprehended two brothers suspected of drug peddling, seizing 188 bottles of phensedyl from them in the Pillar Bazaar area under Sadar police station on Friday night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrest followed a tip-off that led an operational team from RAB-13's Nilphamari Camp to search an auto-rickshaw in the Pillar Bazaar area. The team conducted the search and successfully recovered the contraband phensedyl, arresting the two men at the scene at 10:30 pm, as stated in a press release.
The detainees have been identified as Md Mansur Ali, 38, son of the late Oliar Rahman from the village of Dakshin Ketkibari (Shantinagar), and Fazlul Haque, 65, son of the late Nurul Haque from the village of Uttar Gomnati (Mazhyali) under Domar upazila of Nilphamari district. After filing a case, the elite force handed over the arrested individuals and the confiscated phensedyl to Sadar police station in Nilphamari district for further legal proceedings.
