Dhaka: BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny today warned political allies against creating rifts in national unity, stating that such disunity would severely harm the country and the upcoming election.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Anny expressed concerns during a familiarization meeting of the District Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal held at his town residence. He emphasized that if unity falters at this crucial moment, it would provide an opportunity for fascists to gain power, a scenario he insisted must be avoided.
Anny alleged that there are ongoing plots to disrupt and call into question the integrity of the forthcoming election. He specifically accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party of spending thousands of crores of taka, both domestically and internationally, in an effort to prevent the election from taking place.
He urged all political allies to remain cautious, alert, and united against these conspiracies, highlighting the importance of preserving national unity to safeguard the democratic process.
The familiarization meeting was chaired by District Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal President Advocate Saiful Islam Shaheen and coordinated by General Secretary Sohel Hossain.
