Bangla Academy Marks Legend Filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak’s Birth Centenary

Dhaka: To mark the birth centenary of the legendary Bengali film director Ritwik Kumar Ghatak, the Bangla Academy today arranged a seminar at its Seminar Room this afternoon. Director General of the Bangla Academy, Professor Mohammad Azam, presided over the event, which celebrated the profound impact of Ghatak's work on Bengali cinema.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar featured a presentation by Professor Fahmida Akter, Chairperson of the Department of Drama and Dramatics at Jahangir Nagar University. Her article, titled "Titash Ekti Nodir Naam (1973) film: Malo Jibon-Bastobotar Mohakabbik Nirman," explored the thematic depth and cultural significance of Ghatak's renowned film.

Producer Habibur Rahman Khan, who was involved in producing "Titash Ekti Nodir Naam," and Dr. Jakir Hossen Raju of Independent University contributed to the seminar as discussants, sharing insights into Ghatak's cinematic legacy and his influence on future generations of filmmakers.
