Four Dengue Patients Succumb as 1,101 New Cases Emerge Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today reported the detection of 1,101 new dengue cases and the death of four patients within the past 24 hours.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the newly reported cases, 151 patients were admitted to hospitals in the Barishal division, 125 in the Chattogram division, and 208 in the Dhaka division excluding the capital. Within Dhaka, 175 cases were recorded in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 241 in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 59 cases were detected in the Khulna division, 75 in the Mymensingh division, 45 in the Rajshahi division, 19 in the Rangpur division, and three in the Sylhet division, as per a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).



Since the onset of dengue outbreaks this year, Bangladesh has recorded 292 deaths, with 73,923 individuals affected by the disease. In comparison, last year saw 575 fatalities and 101,214 cases of dengue across the country.
