Dhaka: National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today announced that the party plans to field candidates in all 300 constituencies in the upcoming national elections. “InshaaAllah, we will have candidates in all 300 constituencies. NCP is a party for everyone, and we invite new political activists to join us in building a new Bangladesh. We are providing capable and patriotic leadership in every district and constituency,” he stated in a video message this evening.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid Islam revealed that the party is working nationwide and will finalize its candidate list within this month. He expressed hope for receiving the same level of public support in the elections as the party has gained in a short period. Expressing gratitude to party members and supporters, he emphasized reliance on the prayers, love, and support of NCP leaders at all levels and the general public, adding, “InshaaAllah, our victory will come soon.”

The NCP convener also welcomed the party’s official registration. He acknowledged the years of effort that culminated in NCP being formally registered as a political party, appreciating the tireless work of central and grassroots leaders in this achievement. Recalling the party’s journey, Nahid Islam mentioned that NCP was founded in February with the aim of building a new Bangladesh following the popular uprising.

He outlined the registration process, noting that it began in March and involved submitting all required documents to the Election Commission in June. Despite delays in issuing the party symbol, NCP eventually received official registration and its symbol after a lengthy review process. Commenting on the party’s grassroots engagement, he mentioned their activities during the July movement, where they visited homes across the country and received significant public support. He concluded by noting the party’s preparedness for the upcoming election, having advocated reforms under the July Charter.
