Shariatpur: Two men were electrocuted at Bakailpara in Kodalpur union under Gosairhat upazila of the district early today. The victims, identified as Alamgir Daptari, 52, and Nur Alam Mollah, 40, both hailed from the Dewanpara village in the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the unfortunate incident occurred when the men were using an electric motor to irrigate a pond while fishing. This led to their electrocution, causing immediate concern among local residents.
Gosairhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Borhan Uddin confirmed the details of the incident. He stated that locals quickly responded, rescuing the victims and transporting them to the Gosairhat Upazila Health Complex. However, upon arrival, doctors declared both men dead.
