Lalmonirhat: A motorcyclist was killed when a truck hit his motorbike in Shrutidhar Dargahpara area under Kaliganj upazila of the district on Saturday noon. The deceased was identified as Mahbub Rahman, 48, son of the late Zafar Ali of that area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway when a drum truck collided with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. This resulted in Mahbub sustaining critical injuries, as stated by Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zakir Hossain.
Locals promptly rescued Mahbub and transported him to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. However, the doctor on duty declared him dead upon arrival. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family last night.
