Sunamganj: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today emphasized that parents and teachers must be aware to enhance the quality of education in the haor regions. He delivered his remarks as the chief guest during an exchange of views meeting focused on the role of stakeholders in improving primary education quality at the Hason Raja Auditorium of Sunamganj Primary Teachers' Training Institute (PTI).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Bidhan Ranjan highlighted the necessity for teachers to be conscious of children's health while ensuring opportunities for play and physical development. He underscored the importance of co-curricular activities, such as poetry, songs, and recitation, in fostering moral development among children.
The adviser further stressed the importance of nurturing compassion among students and urged teachers to serve as role models. He stated that teachers must prepare themselves as builders of human resources, focusing on teaching and shaping students into ideal citizens.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary Abu Taher Md Masud Rana, Additional Secretary Taslima Akhter, Director (Policy and Operations) of the Directorate of Primary Education A K M Mohammad Shamsul Haque, and Deputy Director of the Sylhet Education Division Mohammad Nurul Islam also addressed the event.
The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Samar Kumar Pal, with Assistant Teacher Sumana Talukdar conducting the session.
