Sirajganj: A youth lost his life and another was injured in a road accident in the Tetiyar Kanda area on the Bogura-Nagarbari highway under Shahjadpur upazila. The incident occurred when a group of youths was reportedly racing on motorcycles.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Ruhan, 17, from the municipal headquarters of Ullapara upazila. Eyewitnesses recounted that several youths were riding at high speed from Ullapara towards Pabna on three motorcycles. As they reached the Tetiyar Kanda area, the motorcycles collided, leading to a loss of control and a crash into a roadside tree.
The collision resulted in two motorcyclists being thrown off, with Ruhan dying instantly at the scene. Locals quickly responded by rescuing another injured youth, identified as Badsha, who was initially taken to a local hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, Badsha was later referred to Pangu Hospital in Dhaka for further treatment.
Sub Inspector Emdad from Shahjadpur Police Station confirmed the incident, stating that one individual died on the spot, while another sustained serious injuries.
