Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed announced today that the party is contemplating the formation of a grand alliance with parties that participated in the anti-fascist movement. He emphasized that the goal of such an alliance would be to unite and secure victory in the upcoming election, while maintaining national unity as the primary focus. Ahmed urged all parties to remain committed to the path of unity.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salahuddin Ahmed made these remarks to journalists after paying tribute at the tomb of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. The occasion marked the 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal. Ahmed expressed his vision for a youth-centric Bangladesh that prioritizes employment generation and technological advancement. He stated that the future of Bangladesh should align with the aspirations of the youth, focusing on merit and forward-thinking ideals cherished by the martyrs of the July Uprising and the War of Liberation.
Addressing questions regarding the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman's meetings with potential candidates for the upcoming national election, Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed ongoing discussions with multiple qualified candidates for each seat across the country. This initiative is part of BNP's strategic preparations for the forthcoming elections.
