Dhaka: NCP Northern Region Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam today emphasized the essential role of youth in the democratic transition process following the recent uprising. "It was the youth who took to the streets and fought uncompromisingly against the fascist structure when people's trust in the country's political parties waned. The mass uprising took place under the leadership of the youth, and as a result of that uprising, the fascist Hasina fled the country," he told reporters after attending a meeting here.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sarjis highlighted the crucial participation of the younger generation to ensure the continuation of fundamental reforms and political processes aimed at implementing the 'July Charter' in the future Bangladesh. The meeting was chaired by NCP Joint Member Secretary Ahnaf Sayeed Khan, and the former convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Kishoreganj district unit, Hafez Ikram Hossain, moderated the session.

The gathering also saw contributions from NCP leaders Saifullah Haider, Khairul Kabir, Sayeed Ujjal, and Didar Shah, who shared their insights on the importance of youth engagement in shaping the political landscape of the nation.
