Dhaka: The government has approved the creation of 2258 additional posts for the paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new positions will support three battalions and a hospital facility within the force. The battalions are stationed in Bhuruingamari of Kurigram district, Thanchi of Bandarban district, and Meherpur district. The Border Guard Hospital is situated in Guimara Upazila of Khagrachhari district.
The notification issued by the Home Ministry specifies that 742 posts will be allocated to each of the three battalions, while 32 posts are designated for the hospital facility.
This expansion will bring the total manpower of the BGB to 59,735.
