Dhaka: A low-pressure system that formed this morning is likely to evolve into a cyclone, impacting the Indian states of Odisha and Tamil Nadu. Bangladesh may experience rain for two or three days beginning October 29 due to the influence of this low-pressure system.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, duty officer Kazi Zebunnesa from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) confirmed the development. She stated that the low pressure developed at 6 am today and is expected to intensify, potentially transforming into a cyclone. However, it is not anticipated to directly impact Bangladesh but rather the Indian states of Odisha and Tamil Nadu. Coastal regions of Bangladesh may experience heavy rain, while other parts of the country might see light to moderate rain due to the low pressure.
The met office bulletin indicates that rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two locations in the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, the weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies in other parts of the country. Slight decreases in both day and night temperatures are anticipated across the country.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius at Feni station, while the minimum temperature was 20.1 degrees Celsius at Tetulia station. In Dhaka, the sun is expected to set at 5:25 pm today and rise at 6:01 am tomorrow.
