Jashore: Janice Farzana Tania, an LLB graduate, has transformed her passion for tradition into a thriving entrepreneurial venture rooted in the cultural heritage of Jashore. Her brand, 'Alia's Collection', celebrates the region's iconic Jashore stitch through sarees, punjabis, shawls, and salwar kameez - blending timeless craftsmanship with modern style.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farzana's journey began as an emotional tribute. 'My mother was the closest person to me,' she recalled. 'After her death, I was devastated. To cope with loneliness, I opened a Facebook page in her name in 2016.' This connection soon became the foundation of her business dream. By mid-2017, she had launched her venture, focusing on sarees, shawls, and three-pieces.

Today, 'Alia's Collection' has grown into a well-known brand for Jashore stitch products, employing groups of women artisans from remote areas. Together, they weave garments that merge tradition with modernity. Farzana explained, 'Clothes are an inseparable part of our lives. Whatever we do in our daily routine, we cannot spend a single moment without them. That's why I decided to take the initiative to design and promote this essential product.'

Born and raised in Magura, Farzana has been familiar with Jashore stitch products since childhood. She began her journey with a dream to blend modern styles with the rich tradition of Jashore stitching. 'Now, I feel content with every step of progress I make,' she reflected.

One of her biggest challenges has been training girls in remote areas to adopt her unique style of work. Many artisans balance their work with family responsibilities, which can impact daily attendance. To counter this, Farzana has increased the number of workers to maintain consistent production.

Initially, her business was entirely Facebook-based. However, recognizing customer preferences for a more comprehensive shopping experience, she launched an e-commerce website for Alia's Collection. This platform allows buyers to explore collections and place orders with ease.

Farzana emphasized the importance of having a website for any initiative, even if it's not an e-commerce platform. It helps build customer trust, improve Google rankings, and introduce products to a wider audience.

Unique handmade designs are a hallmark of Alia's Collection. While this ensures originality, it also means that products can have slight variations, a fact now communicated to buyers in advance. Maintaining stock of popular items and offering customized orders are strategies used to meet customer preferences.

Farzana's vision extends beyond her business. She aims to introduce Jashore stitch products to the new generation and plans to open a physical showroom. Additionally, she supports local entrepreneurs through a Facebook group and hopes to establish an educational scholarship for her employees' children.
