Tangail: The National Consumer Rights Protection Department in a drive fined Taka one lakh to Gaur Ghosh Dadhi and Mistanno Bhandar in the district for various irregularities. The department fined the sweet shop for not having the production and expiry date of the yogurt, recovering rotten yogurt and finding a lizard in the large pot used for making sweets.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team from the department conducted a drive at Gaur Ghosh Dadhi and Mistanno Bhandar adjacent to the city's Park Bazar around 11 am and imposed the fine for these irregularities. Asaduzzaman Rumel, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, stated that the shop has been warned, and if similar complaints are received in the future, strict action will be taken.
Such drives will continue in the public interest. Municipal sanitary inspectors and members of law enforcement agencies, among others, were present on the occasion.
