Restaurant Fined Tk 2 Lakh for Food Safety Violations in Chittagong

Chittagong: A mobile court has imposed a fine of Taka two lakh on a restaurant located in the Kotwali area for serving low-quality food in an unhygienic setting.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Masuma Akhter Kona at Hill Side Restaurant in Nandankanon on Monday evening. The restaurant was penalized under the provisions of the Safe Food Act, 2013, as confirmed by District Food Safety Officer Mohammad Farhan Islam.

These enforcement actions will continue to ensure public safety, he mentioned.
