Dhaka: The Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Cup Men's 2025 is set to commence at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the capital tomorrow (Wednesday). Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest at 3 pm. The opening ceremony will also see the presence of key figures including AVC Technical Delegate Maryam Hesabi, CAVA VIS official Ismail Farhan, Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) President Faruque Hassan, its general secretary Bimal Ghosh Bhulu, Vice-President Masudul Alam, and other federation officials.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the international championship will feature six nations competing for regional honors. Hosts Bangladesh will be joined by teams from the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan. The home team, under the guidance of Japanese Coach Ryan Masajedi, aims to reach the final and improve their standing in international rankings.
Wednesday's fixtures are scheduled to begin with Turkmenistan facing Nepal at 10:00 am, followed by a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at 1:00 pm. After the opening ceremony at 3:00 pm, the day will conclude with hosts Bangladesh taking on the Maldives at 5:30 pm.
