Two Drug Dealers Held with 75 kg Hemp in Kurigram

Kurigram: Police in a drive arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 75 kg of hemp from Telipara village under Uttar Kashipur upazila of the district last night. The arrested drug dealers are Khorshed Alam, 38, son of late Rajab Ali of Budarbanni area, and Shafiqul Islam, 50, son of late Samser Ali of Khalishakothal area of Naodanga union of the same upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, on a tip-off, a team of police from Phulbari Police Station conducted a drive on the Ghughurhat-Nageshwari road around 9.30 pm. They intercepted a CNG-run auto rickshaw and arrested the suspects with the ganja. Officer-in-Charge of Phulbari Police Station Shawkat Ali Sarkar confirmed the operation and the subsequent arrest.



A case was filed in this connection with Phulbari Police Station. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter to determine further details regarding the drug operation and its potential connections.
