Dhaka: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has instructed banks to take necessary measures to keep their branches or sub-branches open on October 18 (Saturday) to facilitate hajj management activities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the central bank issued a circular today outlining this directive. Banks have been directed to continue accepting Hajj registration funds as long as there are depositors present wishing to submit their money. Additionally, banks are required to ensure adequate security at their concerned branches during this period.
The central bank has issued this instruction under section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991.
