Satkhira: Vegetables seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 690 small and marginal farmers of Tala upazila of the district under an agriculture incentive programme. The initiative aims to enhance vegetable production in the region.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seed and fertilizer distribution was overseen by Krishna Rani Mandal, Assistant Deputy Director of the Satkhira District Agriculture Department. The distribution event took place on the premises of the upazila parishad on Wednesday morning, organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department.
The event was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Deepa Rani Sarkar. It featured addresses from several notable figures, including Upazila Senior Agriculture Officer Hajira Khatun, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Ashraf Hossain, Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Prabhas Kumar Das, Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Convener Saidur Rahman, Tala Press Club President M.A. Hakim, Upazila Water Committee General Secretary Mir Zillur Rahman, and Citizens Committee General Secretary Shafiqul Islam.
