‘Tin Goyenda’ Author Rakib Hasan Passes Away at 74

Dhaka: Renowned author and creator of the popular teenage thriller series ‘Tin Goyenda’, Rakib Hasan, passed away today. He breathed his last at a city hospital this afternoon while undergoing treatment. He was 74.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Seba Prakashoni Adviser Masuma Maymur confirmed the news on his verified Facebook page. He wrote that “The most popular author of ‘Tin Goyenda’ Rakib Hasan passed away. He died of a heart attack while undergoing kidney dialysis.”



Rakib Hasan had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. Born on December 12, 1950, in Cumilla, Hasan initially pursued various jobs before choosing writing as his profession. Over the decades, he became a beloved author for readers across generations.



Hasan began his literary journey with Sheba Prokashoni. The ‘Tin Goyenda’ series, written by Rakib Hasan, was popular among teenagers from the beginning. This series started in August 1985, based on foreign stories. Rakib Hasan wrote a total of 158 stories continuously until 2003, solidifying his place in the hearts of many readers.
