Patuakhali: A three-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Bilbilas Bazar under Baufal upazila of the district today. The deceased was Arif Hossain, son of Sohag Hossain Howlader, a resident of Bulu Gazi house of the area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Arif had been playing in the courtyard in the morning. When family members could not find him after a while, they began searching and later discovered him floating in a nearby pond. The child was immediately rescued and taken to Baufal Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Baufal Police Station Atiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
